Digital interactives – Robin Hood Galleries

We brought the stories of Nottingham’s turbulent past to life in a fun and engaging way, through touchscreen interactive games and four-player tabletop arcade games.

Large-scale projected, four player tabletop games took players through the strange world of medieval Nottingham, encouraging them to travel through the streets using joysticks to carry out different tasks and build their score while avoiding a game-ending encounter with the grim reaper.

Touchscreen games in the Rebellion galleries included; ‘The Governor’, which gave players the opportunity to play the role of the Governor of Nottingham in the English Civil War, making difficult decisions (some of them charting actual historical events)  to protect the city from attack by Royalist forces; ‘Leader of the Luddites’ – a role play interactive, that allowed players to plan and carry out raids on stocking knitting machinery, while evading capture, and ‘Riot!’ Which gave players the chance to suppress and control the unfolding riots of 1831 as they raged across the city.
